GOAT STORY has launched their latest innovation in the world of specialty coffee, the ARCO is a coffee grinder that combines the luxury of an electric grinder with the superb grind quality and portability of a hand grinder, paired with an accurate and simple to use grind setting system.
GOAT STORY is a specialty coffee brand that launched its first Kickstarter campaign in 2014 with a unique reusable coffee mug GOAT Mug. The mug was inspired by the story of goats that discovered coffee. In 2016 they presented GINA Smart Coffee Instrument that received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and was used later that year by swiss barista Emi Fukahori to win the World Brewers Cup in Brazil. In 2019 they introduced Cold Brew Kit, a unique system for brewing cold brew coffee at home, and began to roast specialty coffee in their own micro roastery.
The key to great coffee is grinding your beans just before brewing. In just 15 minutes after grinding your coffee, the flavors begin to deteriorate and you’re left with a cup of coffee that could taste even better. “We have seen hand grinders gain on popularity in the last few years… The reasons are obvious – superb grind quality that can match that of a very expensive professional grinder and of course the portability” Anže Miklavec, CEO of GOAT STORY. The ARCO combines the best of both worlds – the user experience of an electric grinder with the freedom and grind quality of a hand grinder.
The idea isn’t new as many have tried to power up a hand grinder. The GOAT STORY team of engineers have been working on the project for over a year and developed a portable hand grinder with a unique grind setting system and proven grind quality that can be connected to an electric dock for home use. “Our goal was to create the most versatile grinder on the market with a user experience of classic electric grinders like many coffee lovers use at home, but with the possibility to take it anywhere and grind coffee like a professional barista along with the signature GOAT STORY design touch” says Miklavec.
The ARCO is available in two variations: a 2-in-1 electric and hand grinder and a manual hand grinder. To achieve its grind quality, ARCO utilizes a unibody aluminium casing that is milled from a single piece of aluminium and a 47/32mm conical steel burr that is held in place with a 10mm steel shaft and two precision bearings. The hand grinder can be cranked by hand or connected to the ARCO power dock that is powered by a slowed down electric motor. The ARCO has 120 grind settings that allow you to go from Ibrik to Cold brew.

In 2014 they were just short of $500,000 with GOAT Mug, a unique portable coffee mug and in 2016 they raised just over $500,000 with GINA Smart Coffee Instrument, a manual filter coffee brewer with an integrated scale.
