[Leak] Nokia X pictures show sleek design with iPhone X like notch and dual cameras

Nokia is planning to announce its next flagship smartphone, Nokia X, on May 16th. The handset was initially planned to be announced as X6 few days ago but plans have been changed.  However, it is still possible that the device might be introduced under two different names depending on the market (Nokia X for China and Nokia X6 for international). The leaked photo confirms that Nokia’s flagship smartphone of 2018 will feature an iPhone X like notched display (edge-to-edge) with a small bezel  on the bottom that will have Nokia logo.

Rumored Nokia X Technical Specifications

The Nokia X smartphone is rumored to have a 5.8″ display with 1080 x 2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device will release with Android 8.1 Oreo and processor will have two types: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC or a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. In terms of memory, the Nokia X is expected to have 64GB/128GB storage and 4GB/6GB RAM. The smartphone will feature a dual camera setup on the rear with a 12-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens. The battery will have a capacity of 3,300mAh. Given the edge-to-edge display, the fingerprint sensor will be placed vertically in the center along with the dual cameras. The device is also expected to have a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C charging port. There is no news on pricing yet but expect it to be a budet friendly smartphone in the range of around $300 (USD).

Nokia phones were the gold standard back in the day with long lasting build quality and eye-catching design. With the recent smartphone market competition, Nokia has been on the sidelines for the most part but the Nokia X gives me hope that the company can still make the comeback and grab a spot in the smartphone industry that it deserves.
