iPhone 6 Plus vs Galaxy Note 4 vs Nexus 6: Specs Comparison

Its the era of phablets. For years, Apple has been denying the popularity of bigger screens. Thanks to popularity of Samsung Note series Apple has officially entered into the phablet category of products with the iPhone 6 Plus. It seems to be a very hot trend in smartphone industry as Google has also introduced the Nexus 6 with a 6-inch display.

Well, let’s compare the technical specifications of these three giants. As these devices are expected to be the most popular phablets this holiday season. Let’s see which one comes out on top.

We have listed specs of all three devices below, the superior specs are in bold text and winning specs are highlighted with green text.

Although it may seem like a specs comparison, we have highlighted the superior functioning specs in green text above. Just looking at the above table, the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 has many things going for it, but let’s compare these features even further.

First off, both the Nexus 6 and Note 4 feature quadHD (1440p) displays and the iPhone 6 Plus just has a 1080p Full-HD display. The displays are a tie between Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4. In the processor department, all three are very comparable so there is no clear winner there.

For the camera, the Galaxy Note 4 clearly takes this category as it features a 16MP ISOCELL camera with OIS, which has proven to be a very good camera both for picture detail and accuracy. The Galaxy Note 4 also offers expandable storage with mirco-SD card. The iPhone 6 Plus is also trailing in the memory (RAM) department, which usually affects a device’s ability to multitask. In terms of the battery, it is a tie between Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4, both of which feature a 3220 mAh battery. It is important note that Galaxy Note 4 does feature a removable battery.

The iPhone 6 Plus takes the weight and slimness category with thickness and weight of only 7.5mm and 172g, respectively. Although, the Galaxy Note does pack bigger screen in comparable dimensions to the iPhone 6 Plus. The Nexus 6 clearly wins in terms of the price, as it has the lowest price of these three. The Nexus 6 also wins in the extra features as it sports water resistant coating, wireless charging, and dual front-facing stereo speakers, something that both the competitors lack.

Based on the specs, the choice is very clear. However, iPhone 6 Plus has many things going for itself. The camera experience on the iPhone 6 Plus is one of the best in the industry despite the lower 8 MP sensor. The battery on iPhone 6 Plus also performs similarly to the Nexus 6. The fingerprint sensor is exclusive to the iPhone, which also enables Apple Pay support. The iPhone 6 Plus might be inferior in the specs department but Apple definitely makes up for it by providing a better experience for the user.
