Samsung Electronics announced its inaugural foray into the North American residential air-to-water heat pump market at CES 2025. Following European success, Samsung aims to introduce its sleek, AI-powered heat pumps, known for their dependable performance, to North American households.
“It is a great privilege to showcase our latest Air to Water Heat Pump lineup at CES 2025,” said Hang Seok Choi, VP and Head of the Air Solution Business Team for the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “As there is an increasing demand for this new heating system in the North American market, we are excited to build upon our existing expertise based on years of previous experiences, to introduce convenient, powerful solutions to our customers, meeting these requirements.”
Samsung will unveil two Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub indoor units: the integrated-tank ClimateHub Mono and the wall-mounted Hydro Unit Mono. Complementing these is the EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit, engineered for minimal noise (as low as 35dB(A)) and utilizing the eco-friendly R32 refrigerant. The ClimateHub Mono and EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet will be showcased at CES 2025.
These cutting-edge heat pumps are distinguished by their exceptional functionality and user experience. The Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub units feature the intuitive 7-inch AI Home interface, facilitating effortless temperature and system control. Moreover, users can monitor solar panel energy generation and manage other SmartThings-connected devices through the zone overview.
The units’ slim design, measuring 600mm and 350mm in depth respectively, enables versatile installation in diverse spaces, particularly well-suited for multi-unit dwellings and apartments. Despite their compact form, essential components such as magnetic filters, three-way valves, and an expansion vessel for space heating are seamlessly integrated.
Both indoor and outdoor units are meticulously designed for optimal performance. The indoor unit minimizes thermal loss during hot water supply through a large heat transfer area and robust three-layer insulation. The EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet ensures reliable operation even in extreme cold (down to -30°C) thanks to a high-pressure Scroll Compressor and Flash Injection Technology. This enables 100% heating performance at temperatures as low as -25°C and consistent hot water supply (up to 70°C) at temperatures as low as -15°C.
Furthermore, users can activate AI Energy Mode, which, when connected to SmartThings Energy, can significantly reduce energy consumption by up to 17%.
Samsung has a proven track record with its EHS lineup, currently available in over 40 European countries since 2009. The company plans to introduce the EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet and the new Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub units, equipped with AI Home, to the North American market in the coming year.
